MARION (KWWL) Like a heavyweight fighter, Marion and Decorah traded blows throughout the course of their first round playoff matchup.
In the end, Decorah was the last one standing, intercepting a Dalton Combs pass in double overtime to hold on to win 37-30 over fourth-ranked Marion.
The start of the game was indicative of how it would finish.
Marion's Logan Pickering got the scoring started, capping off a long drive with a one yard score.
Decorah wouldn't blink twice.
On the Vikings' next drive, running back Robby Jewell threw a 37 yard option pass to Chris Wanless to tie things up at 7-7.
The two teams continued to exchange scores throughout the remainder of the game, until Decorah was able to hold on in double overtime.
