Trooper challenging Examiner's homicide decision

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- An Iowa state trooper is skeptical of a medical examiner's decision that a car accident was homicide.

Last week, the medical examiner ruled the death of 36-year-old Stephanie Dripps was homicide, but trooper Nathan Miller says a hill just north of the crash could have hindered visibility -- he's calling it a "freak accident."

The crash happened October 8th in Benton county.  A car driven by 42-year-old Paul Lauritson was broadsided by an SUV.  Both Lauritson and Dripps were killed in the crash.
