Cedar Rapids (KWWL) -- Linn County continues it's open houses to gather public input on options for the Administrative Office Building.

Tonight's open house is being held at the Cleveland Elementary School cafeteria at 2200 First Avenue NW in Cedar Rapids from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m..

The schedule for the other three are as follows:

Wednesday, October 28 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Carl and Mary Koehler History Center, 615 First Avenue SE in Cedar Rapids.

Wednesday, October 28 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Marion City Hall, 1225 6th Avenue in Marion.

Thursday, October 29 from 7:00 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Hiawatha City Hall, 101 Emmons Street in Hiawatha.

Because of the flood damage to the Administrative Office Building at 930 First Street SW, Linn County is looking at five options.  Those options are:

  • Returning to the Administrative Office Building as it was pre-flood
  • Renovating, improving and expanding the Administrative Office Building
  • Buying and renovating the Steve & Barry's building at Westdale Mall for long-term use
  • Buying and renovating the former Econofoods building on 51st St. NE in Cedar Rapids
  • Co-location with the City of Cedar Rapids and/or school district in a yet-to-be-determined location.

If you can't attend an open house, you can go to www.linncounty.org to view the displays and complete a survey. The survey will be available online through November 4th.
