Iowa City (KWWL) -- The attempted murder trial for Bernard Butler II has been delayed until next year.

Butler II, 18, is charged with the attempted murder of Cortez Parker back on August 9th at what was then known as Los Cocos.

Police say Butler shot Cortez in the stomach after the two were fighting in the parking lot.

Parker was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Butler's trial was supposed to take place on November 2, 2009, but is now set for March 1, 2010.

Butler is charged with Attempted Murder, Going Armed with Intent, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, Reckless Use of a Firearm with Serious Injury and Carrying Weapons.

Los Cocos closed shortly after the shooting and has reopened with new management as the Juice Box.
