UPDATE: Traer man charged while out on bond

TRAER (KWWL) -- A Traer man accused of trying to kill his ex-wife now faces additional weapons charges.

35-year-old Jason Harriman was out on bond after being charged with attempted murder last month.  That's until the Tama County Sheriff's Office said he bought a handgun from an undercover officer.

He was arrested Sunday and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.  Harriman's bond was revoked on the existing state charges and set at $200,000 cash.  Additional bond was set on the new state charge at $50,000.  A federal no bond detainer was placed on him pending federal indictment.
