North Tama Finishes Undefeated--Wins District Title, 7-0

Defense did it again Friday night for Iowa's top-ranked in Class A. North Tama finished the regular season undefeated, winning the Class District 6 Title, with a 7-0 victory over North Mahaska on a rain-soaked, muddy field in Traer.

The victory is North Tama's 9th of the season and the Redhawks 7th shutout in 9-regular season games. The only score came midway through the 4th quarter, when Dylan Youel plowed in from the 3-yard line. The point after was good and North Tama led, 7-0.

North Mahaska quarterback, Dylan Boyle, whose brother, Brad, is the starting QB at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, was driving his team late in the 4th quarter. With just over two minutes left to play, Boyle fired a long pass, intended for Brock Davis. Davis slipped on the muddy field and Brendon Boerm intercepted for North Tama to seal the victory.

North Tama host a first round, sub-state playoff game in Traer Wednesday night.

Final:  North Tama 7, North Mahaska 0
