Awards for historic preservation

IOWA CITY (KWWL) - Iowa City property owners, contractors, craftsmen, and consultants who have recently completed historically appropriate home repair, additions, or other construction projects will be recognized for their preservation efforts at an awards ceremony scheduled Monday, November 2 at 5:30 p.m. in Meeting Room A of the Iowa City Public Library, 123 S. Linn Street.

Award winners were selected by the City of Iowa City Historic Preservation Commission, Friends of Historic Preservation, and the Johnson County Historic Preservation Commission. The winning projects expemplify appropriate construction and restoration projects for historic properties.

Tickets for a door prize - a free home energy evaluation by Dave Neipp and Thomas McInerney - will be available.

The event, sponsored by MidWestOne Bank, is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
