Names released in I-80 crash


JOHNSON COUNTY (KWWL) -- The Iowa State Patrol has released the names of the 5 people injured in a crash on Interstate 80 near Oxford Monday morning.

The State Patrol says 45-year-old Gary Green of Florence, Kentucky was driving the semi that hit a cement barrier in a construction zone.  Green was injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Four people working in the construction zone were also injured; the State Patrol says their injuries came from debris from the collision. 

Dean Herberger of Indianola, Jack Herberger of Indianola, Manuel Dominguez of Des Moines and Lawrence Schropp of Parnell were all injured in the crash and taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 80 near Oxford were closed for most of Monday afternoon.
