Dubuque police make arrests in robbery investigation

DUBUQUE (KWWL) - According to our coverage partner, the Telegraph Herald, several people have been charged in connection with a series of robberies, assaults and a theft that occurred on the Dubuque's east and northeast sides between May and September.

Dubuque investigators told the TH they had received nine confirmed reports of robberies, six reports of assault and one report of theft. The incidents occurred under similar circumstances, which suggested a possible link, police said.

Of the cases reported, a group of individuals who primarily are juveniles have been identified as being responsible in at least seven of those cases and criminal charges have been filed.

The lone adult is identified as Deandre Austin, 20, of Dubuque, who has been charged with first-degree robbery and aiding and abetting assault with injury. The charges reflect two separate incidents.
