Man accused of playing with toy while driving, causing fatal crash

Posted:

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- A Muscatine man faces homicide charges after a fatal crash near Dubuque last February. The criminal complaint says he was distracted by a toy while driving.

Investigators say 20-year-old Brandon Reddick was steering with his knees while playing a McDonald's Happy Meal video game toy.

The vehicle drifted over the center line and hit another car head-on -- killing two passengers and seriously injuring the driver. A passenger in Reddick's car was also seriously injured.
