Woman's tooth broken in Iowa City assault

IOWA CITY (KWWL)-- A woman is punched in the face, and now she is missing part of a front tooth.

Iowa City Police were called to a report of a person laying in the street at College and Gilbert Street in Iowa City just before 2 a.m. Friday. The woman wasn't there when police arrived, but was located in the 100 block of South Linn Street.

Police say the woman was with a small group of people when she was assaulted by a man, without provocation, at the intersection of College and Linn Streets. The woman was punched in the face. One of her front teeth is now broken.

The man is described as a white male, about 20-years-old with brown hair.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000.
