USHL teams glad to see Dubuque get a franchise

WATERLOO (KWWL) - With Dubuque's entrance into the USHL, Iowa teams will have more rivals.  The USHL now has 5 teams in Iowa including the Waterloo Blackhawks and the Cedar Rapids Roughriders.  Those teams say having a team in Dubuque will be good for fans and for business.

"Rivalries are huge. If you ever go to a Cedar Rapids game, whether up here or down in Cedar Rapids, you know what that means. So to be able to add another rival like Dubuque, especially with our history in the past, many of the fans remember that, it'd be outstanding," said Waterloo Blackhawks president Doug Miller.

Cedar Rapids Roughriders president Jeff Jauch says, "We think think it would be a wonderful thing for the league and for iowa. It makes sense to have another team in the area. That's what it's all about, putting people in the stands, and I think local fans will embrace it."
