Cyclones confident despite loss

AMES  (KWWL) -- Confidence is running high in Ames despite the fact that the Cyclones lost on Saturday.  Iowa state gave 16th ranked Kansas a run for their money, gained more than 500 yards of offense, and put up their highest point total in a Big 12 game since 2005.

Coach Paul Rhoads points to the very first play of the game as to what made the difference.

"I think the first pass for an 18 yard gain on a tough ball to throw and a tough ball to catch, it's amazing what a throw like that to start can do for the confidence of your trigger man and everyone else around him," says Rhoads.

Iowa State and Baylor kick off at 6 pm this Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium
