QNI announces new VP to oversee NBC stations


QUINCY, Illinois (KWWL) -- Quincy Newspapers, Inc. has announced a new Regional Vice President to oversee the NBC affiliates owned by the company.

Jerry Watson will oversee the company's six NBC stations, including KWWL. Watson will remain the Vice President and General Manager of KTIV in Sioux City and KTTC in Rochester, Minnesota. In addition to KWWL, Watson will also oversee WGEM in Quincy, Illinois; WREX in Rockford, Illinois; and WVVA in Bluefield, West Virginia.

Watson also has responsibility for the company's shared services agreement with KXLT, a FOX affiliate in Rochester.

Tom Allen has also been named Regional Vice President of QNI and will have oversight of the company's ABC and FOX affiliates. He will remain as Vice President and General Manager of WKOW (ABC) in Madison, Wisconsin and will be based there. The company's other ABC affiliates include WXOW/WQOW in La Crosse/Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and WAOW/WYOW in Wausau/Eagle River, Wisconsin. The company's FOX affiliate is WSJV serving South Bend/Elkhart, Indiana.

Chuck Roth has been named Director of Business Administration for QNI and will work in a variety of roles. For the past year, Roth has worked on special projects for the company. Prior to that, he was Vice President and General Manager of WXOW/WQOW. He is based in Onalaska, WI.

In addition to the stations listed above, QNI has CW, RTV and This TV affiliations in several markets. It also owns and operates WGEM/AM/FM in Quincy, as well as the Quincy Herald-Whig in Quincy and the New Jersey Herald in Newton, NJ.
