Moen, Schneider take top spots at North Linn

TROY MILLS (KWWL) -  Wapsie Valley's Katy Moen, the top ranked runner in class 1A, held off Iowa City Regina's Nicole Kleinmeyer for the top spot at the North Linn Cross Country Invitational.  Moen and Kleinmeyer ran side by side for the first 3,000 meters on a chilly Saturday morning, but Moen pulled away in the final kilometer for a :17 victory.

On the boys side Monticello senior Jud Schneider put together a fantastic run for the victory.  Schneider led all the way from the gun to the finish line running the 5K distance in a great time of 15:52.  That was 6 seconds ahead of Josh Goerdt of Dyersville Beckman.

Iowa City Regina took the number one spot in the team race just one point ahead of second place Cedar Rapids Xavier.  Williamsburg took home the girls' title.
