Wapsie Valley Crushes Don Bosco 50-6


GILBERTVILLE (KWWL) -- In Class A District 4, Wapsie Valley seeking its fifth straight win at winless Don Bosco.

Wapsie Valley leading 14-0 with the ball first and goal on the five, but Warrior fullback Jacob Wenger loses the handle and Chris Schares recovers for Don Bosco. But the good times don't last long for the Dons.

On their next possession the Wapsie Valley and fullback Jacob Wenger plows into the end zone from five yards out to give the Warriors a commanding 20-0 lead with 2:12 left in the half.

Don Bosco head coach Dean Younblut calls for the 2 minute drill and his team responds. Nick Rosaur rolls and fires deep and he has got a man, 6-5 sophomore Brandt Becker with the 50 yard catch and run deep into Wapsie territory.

Two plays later Rosaur hits Nate Springer who makes a determined effort and nearly scores, but it's called back because of an illegal block.

Wapsie Valley wins 50-6 to improve to 5-1.
