North Fayette Hawks fly over Monticello

WEST UNION (KWWL) -- This is a battle of two of the top four teams in 2A District 4. North Fayette and Monticello have played two common opponents, MFL Mar Mac and Sumner-Fredericksburg.

North Fayette beat MFL-Mar Mac 62-8 and Sumner-Fredericksburg 22-9. While Monticello beat MFL-Mar Mac 27-14 and the Panthers only loss this season was to Sumner-Fredericksburg 36-0 three weeks ago.

That was then, this is now and the opening kick off belonged to the Hawks and who else number 8 the senior Tom Nesvik skips over the main would-be tacklers and sprints his way to the Monticello 48-yard line for a 42-yard return.

Five plays later, number two Tanner Mork runs it in from 4-yards out for North Fayette. The missed extra point made it 6-0 Hawks.

The Monticello Panthers came to play with their spread offense and wide outs. Cody Gullet would air it out and connect with Dakota Gillmore the 180 pound senior who would run it to pay direct from 60-yards out and just like that we are all knotted up at six a piece.

The Hawks would get right back on track thanks to the mighty Sophomore number 22 Jack Greco who would take the ball down the left side for a 37-yard pick up. Two plays later that's number two Tanner Mork in for his second touchdown.

The two point conversion would be good making it 14 to 6 Hawks.

The Panthers would claw their way back from the ground and thru the air number 22 Joe Lopez for a 20-yard run, and then Gullet would connect once again to his favorite receiver Gillmore for a 13-yard touchdown strike. The missed two point conversion made it 14 to 12 Hawks.

The Hawks would then take control of the game with their first possession of the second quarter. A nine play drive topped off with Tanner Mork running it in for his third touchdown. The Hawks would fly away with another victory 50 to 23.

Final score:
North Fayette-50
