Trick-or-treat at Dubuque museum

DUBUQUE (KWWL) - There's a new event at the Dubuque County Historical Society having it's 21st anual Trick-or-Treat at the National Mississippi River Musuem and Aquarium.  A scarecrow contest.  Kids can show off their artistic talents and promote a tri-state business. 

The event begins at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday October 25th.  Trick-or-Treaters are invited to spent three hours walking the decks of the William M. Black steamboat and explore the boatyard and wetland areas, while meetig characters giving out treats along the way.

The even give kids a safe, non-scary, way to experience Halloween.  Children ages 12-years-old and younger are invited to attend. They must be accompanied by an adult.  The cost is $2.00 per person. 

The Historical Society permits costumes, but no masks for safety reasons, and no strollers are allowed on the William M. Black boat.

Anyone intersted in the Scarecrow Contest can download an entry form at the Museum & Aquarium's Web site homepage ( Entries will be accepted through Oct. 16, 2009.
