Senior group votes for medical marijuana

DES MOINES (KWWL) - The Older Iowans Legislature meet in Des Moines once a year to discuss different issues and vote on their importance.
Tuesday they voted 27-21 in favor of approving medical marijuana.

Nancy Nichols of West Des Moines said, "We don't want marijuana. We want marijuana to be used by doctors in cases where opiates and other things do not relieve a person's pain."

The Older Iowans Legislature will pass their ideas on to lawmakers.
