JOHNSON COUNTY (KWWL)--  The man accused of killing his neighbor during a chess game is expected to go before a judge Friday morning.

30-year-old David Christian of Iowa City was originally charged with second-degree murder in the death of Michael Steward nearly a year ago.

As part of a plea agreement, Christian is expected to enter a guilty plea for voluntary manslaughter at 11 a.m. Friday, according to an order filed in Johnson County Court.

A manslaughter plea could mean Christian would spend 10 years in prison.
