Job Hunters Get Free Advice Monday


With Iowa's unemployment rate at a 23-year high, now is the perfect time for some free, professional help, in trying to find a new job.

It's the Job Seeker Open House, coming up Monday, September 28th at the Waterloo office of Iowa Workforce Development. The office is located at 3420 University Avenue, Suite G. The free four-hour Waterloo event is being sponsored by Cedar Valley Society of Human Resource Management  (CVSHRM) and (IWD) Cedar Valley Iowa Workforce Development.

Cedar Valley Society for Human Resource Management is a local professional human resource organization which helps Cedar Valley job seekers find new employment.

Joan Smothers, President of CVSHRM says, "We want to advance people's success in find a job. Our goal is to provide job seekers with professional advice of what employers are looking for and hoe to get that job."

Anyone looking for a new job is welcome to attend this free job fair event, which will begin at 10:00 AM and run until 2:00 PM. At this job fair-like event, local employers and human resource personnel will be on hand to offer advice and assistance on any and all job-related topics, even such items as creating a great resume and what to wear to impress that employer.
