Terror warnings issued as Olympic vote approaches

CHICAGO (AP) -- New U.S. terror warnings are out, but the federal government and local agencies in Chicago say they'd throw all their resources at protecting the Olympics if they come to the city.

Lou Marciani is director of the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security at the University of Southern Mississippi, and he says safety efforts would be at their best during a major event like the Olympics.

A Chicago Olympic bid official says new U.S. terror warnings won't affect the city's bid for the 2016 Summer Games.

The FBI and Homeland Security Department has sent bulletins warning police terrorists still want to attack sports stadiums, entertainment complexes and hotels.

The warnings come just 10 days before the International Olympic Committee picks a 2016 host city. Chicago is a finalist along with Tokyo, Madrid and Rio de Janeiro.
