ISU unveils new basketball practice facility

AMES (KWWL) -- The Iowa State basketball team unveiled their new home Monday morning.  The practice facility located 3 miles off campus features one gym each for the men's and women's teams, a weight room, coaches offices, and a large theater room for game film preparation, as well as recreation.

As for the team, they're favorite room is the basketball lounge which features a 65 inch flat screen and a pool table modeled after the hilton coliseum floor.

"You can't ask for anything more," says junior forward Craig Brackins, "We have tv's, we have video games, we have a hot tub.  Everything that we need is here."

Head coach Greg McDermott expects the factility to assist recruiting, and believes it's a great step forward for Cyclone basketball.

"This has just far exceeded our expectations," says McDermott, "I think there were no corners cut, it's first class all the way, and it's been a great addition for our program."

The facilty was built on donated land and cost just over 8 million dollars.
