North Tama Holds Another Team Scoreless

TRAER (KWWL) -- Last week, Second ranked North Tama crushed then number eight BGM 36-0... While HLV has won two straight since dropping its season opener to Class One-A's Belle Plaine.

The Red Hawks came out showcasing their defense in the first half...the Warriors number ten Brandon Leonard gets the ball and he gets picked up and slammed to the ground by big number 76 Grant Vesley for a loss.

North Tama would take advantage of a Warrior fumble giving them excellent field position and on second and nine from the Warriors 14-yard line the Red Hawks Quarterback connects with Caleb Edwards who scrambles for a few more positive yards.

Two plays later the Red Hawks go up in the air again and connect with number seven Caleb Edwards for a touchdown. The extra point would make it seven-zip in the first quarter.

Neither team would mount much of a drive for the reminder of the first quarter and second quarter with defense taking over the show for the Warriors and Red Hawks.

With four minutes left in the second quarter North Tama would strike up the band and strike on the ground with six foot three, two hundred five pound, Dylan Youel for a nice pick up and then two plays later they would go right back to Youel for a one yard touchdown plunge and with the extra point it would be 14-nothing at the half and the Red Hawks would hold yet another opponent scoreless.

Final score; North Tama - 28 , HLV-Victor - 0
