WATERLOO (KWWL) - The funeral procession for Eric Rule drove by the Waterloo Police Department Friday afternoon.

Drivers in the procession honked their horns as they drove by, to show support for the Waterloo man, who was shot and killed by a Waterloo police officer September 12th.

People were told to wear purple and gold to the funeral because the Minnesota Vikings were Rule's favorite football team.

31-year-old Rule was shot and killed after police were called to a domestic dispute early Saturday morning, after witnesses say Rule fought with officers.

Friends and family who saw it happen say the police officers involved, Steven Bose and Jamie Sullivan, didn't need to use deadly force.

The Division of Criminal Investigation is reviewing the case.
Agents with the DCI say its likely to go in front of a grand jury.
