UPDATE: UNI H1N1 case is off-campus male student

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) - The Black Hawk County Health Department said the UNI H1N1 case is an off-campus male student.

The student has been cleared to attend classes again.

KWWL received phone calls about a possible case in Black Hawk County Thursday.

A tip call indicated that there may be a case on the University of Northern Iowa campus.

We talked with University officials at UNI and they said that as of Wednesday, there were no confirmed cases on campus.

If there were any cases, that information would come from the Black Hawk County Health Department.

We contacted the Black Hawk County Health Department and officials there have been on a conference call discussing the potential of an H1N1 case.

We also learned that the Black Hawk County Health Department has received several phone calls regarding the possible case of H1N1.

We do know that UNI is well-prepared for an outbreak even putting together a number of packets for students who come down with the virus.
