Target Center goes green

MINNEAPOLIS (KWWL) - One sports arena in Minnesota is going green, from high above.

This is a look at the green roof on top of the Target Center in Minneapolis, which opened Tuesday. It spans nearly three acres and is the fifth largest in the U.S., and the tenth largest in the world.

The roof is designed to cut down energy consumption, by helping keep the facility warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

It's estimated the roof will save the arena $300,000 a year in energy costs.
