UNI prepared for swine flu

CEDAR FALLS (AP) -- Officials at the University of North Iowa say they're prepared for H1N1 flu this school year.

Shelley O'Connell is the director of student health at the Cedar Falls campus. O'Connell says students are worried about contracting the disease, but no cases have been diagnosed so far. Officials at the school say they're working to give students information about good hygiene and flu prevention.

The school has offered 1,000 students a free flu shot and has created flu kits to distribute at the clinic and in residence halls. Dining halls will offer a flu meal pack containing soup, applesauce and oatmeal.

Last week, the University of Iowa Student Health Service reported that between 150 and 200 students have exhibited swine flu symptoms.
