Newton man charged in injuries to infant

NEWTON (AP) -- Authorities in Newton say they have filed charges of child endangerment against a man who was caring for an infant who suffered serious injuries on three separate occasions.

The charges against Kyle Duncan of Newton were announced Friday.

Police say Duncan had custody of the infant when it was injured three times during a period between June 23 and June 30.

The infant was taken by Life Flight to Blank Children's Hospital after suffering seizures related to the injuries.

Doctors told authorities that tests showed the infant had both new and old head injuries. Doctors said the infant will likely have permanent neurological problems as a result of the injuries.

The infant was treated at the hospital for four weeks.
