SOLON (KWWL)- The Solon Spartans have made it look almost too easy in their first three games of the 2009 season.
They continued their dominant run Friday night in class 2A, hammering Wilton 59-0 in front of a large crowd at Spartan Stadium.
The Spartans were able to take control of all three facets of the game. Reigning Gatorade Player of the Year James Morris got the scoring started in the first quarter, running for a five yard score to put Solon up 7-0. He would add three more rushing touchdowns on the game, upping his total to 11 on the young season.
But Morris is just one of many weapons on this Spartan team.
Brian Jedlicka returned a punt 78 yards to help Solon build a 31-0 first quarter lead. The defense did its part, pitching its second shutout in as many games. On the year, Solon has only allowed 10 points, while scoring 149.
