New York firefighters help rebuild boy scout camp

Posted:

LITTLE SIOUX, IOWA (KWWL)-- As we approach the eight year anniverary of the September 11 attacks, firefighters are honoring the 343 firefighters and paramedics who lost their lives that day.

Each year, the New York Fire Department picks a project to honor the fallen heroes.

This year, the crew chose Little Sioux, Iowa, where a tornado killed four boy scouts and leveled the scout camp.

Firefighters arrived in Little Sioux Thursday night.  They will build the scouts a new chapel and work on other projects.

Fireman Jimmy Sands says the work is a small way to honor the men who made the ultimate sacrifice.
