WATERLOO (KWWL) - A shooting in Waterloo sends one man to the hospital.  Two people were taken into custody on unrelated charges. Police say the gunman may still be on the loose.

Around 1 p.m. Wednesday, people saw 28 year old Shalen House get shot on West Mullan Avenue.  Police say House was shot in the leg and that his injuries are not life-threatening.  Police say they haven't gotten a good chance to speak to House about who his attacker may be.  Still, the midday gunplay came at a time with young children around and some getting off the bus from school.

"We're always concerned about an innocent bystander getting hit when there's a shooting going on especially in the afternoon when there's a lot of people out especially on a beautiful day like today, we're concerned about an innocent bystander getting hurt in a situation like this," said Waterloo Police Capt. Tim Pillack.

After the shooting, police detained two men, using a taser on one man, 20 year old Detarus Jefferson.  Police say he was wanted for a no bond, probation violation warrant.  At this time, the pair have not been charged with anything related to the shooting.
