Russia booze

According to a recent study published by the medical journal "Lancet," cheap and illegal alcohol is a major health problem in Russia.

The data showed alcohol is responsible for about three quarters of the deaths of Russian men aged 15 to 54, and about half of all deaths of women in the same age bracket.

Store shelves in Russia are full of cheap vodka that costs as little as a dollar ninety cents for a half liter.

Recently, Russian president Dmitry Medvedev called alcoholism a "national disaster."
