Week 1 LSB Top Play Nominees

FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL (KWWL) -- Week one of the high school football season is in the books and as always it gave us another great crop of top plays.  We've whittled those down to four in our search for the top play from the opening week.

Our first nominee of the 2009 season comes from Sumner-Fredericksburg's Gage Mohs who took a handoff at the 49 yardline and motored past and through several Ed-Co defenders on his way to the end zone in the Cougars season opening win.

Waterloo Columbus sophomore Craig Konrady gave us our second nominee.  In his first varsity start Konrady grabbed a pick and returned it 85 yards for a touchdown in the Sailors big win over Independence.

Aplington-Parkersburg's Austin Ryan put himself on the list by finding a great cutback lane on a nice, long 72 yard run as the Falcons opened their season up with a win over Dike-New Hartford.

Sumner-Fredericksburg dropped a second top play nominee in week one. Brad Pagel picked up an Ed-Co punt on a hop, he'd proceed to find a seam and go 70 yards to the zone to wrap up our top 4 for week one.

Now it's up to you, make sure pick your favorite.  One of which will become the next LSB Friday Night Football Play of the Week.
