Iowa judge hears motions in slaughterhouse trial

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- A U.S. district court judge will hear several critical motions in the case against a former kosher slaughterhouse company and four of its top managers.

The hearing in the case against Agriprocessors will be Monday morning in Cedar Rapids.

The judge will address a motion to change venue, a request to delay the trial, as well as former manager Sholom Rubashkin's motion to dismiss all 163 counts against him because of alleged abuse of the grand jury process.

Rubashkin and three co-defendants have pleaded not guilty to immigration, bank fraud, wire fraud and mail fraud charges.
