Ed-Co vs. Sumner-Fredricksburg

FREDERICKSBURG (KWWL) -- Last year Sumner-Fredericksburg crushed Ed-Co 35-0 to open the season. The Cougars would go on to tie for the 2A District four crown and win two playoff games, while Ed-Co did not win a game in 2008.

But, 2009 is a new season. Non-district season opener. In Fredericksburg it was parent night for the Cougars. Those parents received a very nice treat on the first play of the game, the Cougars at the Ed-Co Vikings 49-yard line and the number 26 Gage Mohs running to the outside and he would not go down until he reached the zone, 6 to zero with under a minute played in the game.

Third offensive series for the Cougars.  Mohs takes off running again after a pitch from Keegan Frisch, Mohs goes 28-yards this time ending with a dive. 13-zero with 6 minutes left in the first.

The Vikings would have to punt again, and on the first play at the Vikings 45-yard line this time it's number 6, Trevor Harris rumbling 45-yards to the house, untouched, making it 20-zip Cougars.

Coach Brad Mohs says how about the defense. Well, here you go coach Vikings Q-B Jacob Kluesner goes back to pass and there's no pass, Joe Kluesner gets hit and number 71 Kyle Diemer runs it in for a touchdown. 27-zero at the end of one.

The Cougars Special Team also made the highlights. Ed-Co punts the ball in the second quarter and number 10 Brad Pagel would dash in and out down the field, 70-yards for another Cougar touchdown, making it 34 to zero.
