Trial set for husband of Iowa's top judge

DES MOINES (AP)--A trial is set for the husband of Iowa Supreme Court Chief Justice Marsha Ternus on a misdemeanor charge from an outdoor party at the couple's home near Des Moines.

Dennis Drake was charged July 12 with interference with official acts. His trial is scheduled for Oct. 10 in Polk County District Court.

Deputies were sent to the property near Grimes on a complaint of loud noise.

Seven teenagers, including Drake and Ternus' son, were cited for underage drinking. All those cases have been resolved.

Ternus has not responded to questions about the party, and it's not known whether she was at home at the time.
