Panthers wary of 22nd ranked Hawkeyes

Posted:

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- It's now official, the UNI Panthers will open up their football campaign against a ranked opponent for the second year in a row.  Last season the Panthers hung around against 16th ranked BYU.  This time it's the Hawkeyes.

The first AP poll of the season was realeased Saturday and has Iowa ranked 22nd overall, but no matter what the polls say, Coach Mark Farley already knew his team would face a tough battle in Iowa City.

"I think they're as good a football team as they've ever been, says Farley, "I've watched a lot of Iowa tape.  Hawk Nation should be very pleased with what should happen this year.  I think they're very, very good, but so are we."
