Panther netters seek redemption against ISU

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- The UNI volleyball team will get an early shot at redemption as they open their home season a week from Wednesday hosting Iowa State.  The Cyclones knocked the Panthers out in the first round of the NCAA tournament last year.

That was a big focus at UNI's media day earlier this week, as ISU comes in ranked 13th in the nation.  The Panther players say they're ready for that challenge.

I think that we have really good potential of being a top 15 team, especially playing Iowa State early in the season, says sophomore setter Bre Payton, "It's going to show us the team we can be.  Win or lose, we're close, and it's going to be a good year."

The Panthers open the season against Virginia on Friday in College Station, Texas.
