City considers open houses a success

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Cedar Rapids city leaders are calling two days of open houses a success.

Nearly 600 people came through the doors of the Crowne Plaza ballroom Tuesday and Wednesday.  That's almost three times the number that came to the last open house in June.

The public got the chance to offer feedback on options being considered for six flood-affected city buildings as well as ideas for the future of the parks and recreation department.

The city will be holding its next series of open houses in early October.  They hope to be close to final decisions before November.
