Health care reform meeting packs CR auditorium

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) - Proposed changes to health care have drawn heated opposition at some congressional town hall meetings across the country.

Saturday, a standing room only crowd packed the Ballantyne Auditorium at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids for a town hall hosted by Representative Dave Loebsack.

People from both sides of the issue were given an opportunity to ask questions.

Some opposed to the bill were visibly frustrated but the event remained relatively peaceful.

"I think it's important that our legislative representative be aware of what our concerns and feelings are and would hope that he would be influenced by that," said Cedar Rapids resident Lloyd Howard.

Saturday's town hall meeting in Cedar Rapids is one of 16 Loebsack is holding across his district.
