Scrap metal for school

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Metal of any kind, from bikes to old hog feeders, helped raise money for the Immanuel Lutheran School.

Saturday was the 5th scrap metal drive of the summer for the school.

To celebrate their accomplishment, A-line Iron and Metal presented a check of $20,128.17 to the Immanuel Lutheran School.  This money was the proceeds of recycled metal from the last 4 strap drives.

The school is not sure where exactly the money will go, but knows that it will go toward operational costs, a new website and upgrading technology.

"Its all about giving the kids a place to come to where they can learn and they can understand God's word in the process.  Its just a wonderful school and I don't want to see it close or reduce for that matter," Immanuel Lutheran School Board Member Jeff Bowers said.

There will be another scrap metal drive on September 19th.
