Panthers Steichen Faces Lesser Charges

The legal problems facing Northern Iowa All-Missouri Valley center Austin Steichen have become considerably lighter.

According to online court records-- the most serious charge Austin Steichen faced after a June 30 fight in Arnolds Park has been dismissed.

Steichen was among three men charged with assault to commit willful injury, which is a Class C Felony.

Steichen still faces misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, public intoxication and simple assault.

Steichen continues to practice with the Panthers while his legal issues are being sorted out..

Steichen is one of four starters returning for a Panther offensive line that is rich in talent and experience.
