Back to School outdoor fun for kids in Waterloo

Posted:
WATERLOO (KWWL) -- School time is nearly here, but that doesn't mean summer fun has to come to an end.  Boys and Girls Club in Waterloo Wednesday took time to celebrate back to school with an outdoor party.

All summer long, kids in the cedar valley had been coming to Boys and Girls Club events, field trips, and helping better their communities.  Wednesday's event featured a barbecue, games, a talent show, and even a dunk tank.

"This is our third year of doing this it really just gives the kids, before school starts next week a chance to come out and just be a kid and have fun and enjoy summer and it final days before the school year starts again," Boys and Girls Executive Director Jason Barta said.

Thursday, the group is planning to take about 100 kids to a Minnesota Twins game.
