Dubuque Gala Set For October 2 At The Grand Harbor



The event date for the annual Dubuque area Visiting Nurse Association Gala has been announced by the VNA Junior Board. The 61st annual VNA Gala will be held on Friday night, October 2, at the Grand River Center in Dubuque. The VNA Junior Board made the announcement in a press release, issued Tuesdsy through The Finley Hospital. The Junior Board of the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) will host the 61th annual VNA Gala on Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Grand River Center.

The evening starts at 6:00 p.m. with cocktails followed by a variety of delicious food stations and a dessert bar. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on a wide variety of silent and live auction items as well as donate money directly to fund immunizations for Dubuque area children.  To finish the evening off, entertainment will be provided by Ken Killian's Saxtet Plus Orchestra.

The VNA Charity Gala is open to the public. To attend the event, contact Nicki Scholsser at 563-543-0062 for tickets or to reserve a table. Reservations must be made by September 21, 2009.Those not able to attend this year's event can support the VNA through donations and the purchase of raffle tickets with the chance to win one of three $500 cash prizes. Raffle tickets are $5.00 each or 6 for $25.00 available at Finley Hospital in Auditorium E (near cafeteria) every Thursday in August from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Raffle tickets are also sold at local HyVee stores at tables in the entrance on weekends until the event.

After last year's gala, the Junior Board was able to present the VNA with a check for $53,000.00.  The Junior Board of The Visiting Nurse Association has had the pleasure of supporting the Dubuque VNA and the Dubuque community for the past 77 years.

The Visiting Nurse Association exists to promote and improve the health of the people and communities of Dubuque and Clayton Counties through the provision of effective home and community-based services.
