Man arrested in Iowa suspected Omaha bank heist

COUNCIL BLUFFS (AP)--Omaha police say a man arrested in Council Bluffs, Iowa, is suspected of the robbing a bank branch earlier this week in south Omaha.

Lt. Darci Tierney said Thursday the 29-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night and soon will be charged by federal authorities.

She says police are still looking for a woman who was seen in Council Bluffs, trying to exchange some red-stained money for smaller denominations.

Omaha police said Tuesday that the money given to the robber was rendered all but useless by a telltale exploding dye pack.

Omaha investigators say they were told the robber didn't appear to be armed.

Council Bluffs is just east across the Missouri River from Omaha.
