Electrical contractor worker at John Deere & Co. dies

WATERLOO (KWWL) - According to John Deere spokesperson, Ken Golden, an electrical contractor working at the Deere & Co. Foundry was found unconscious and taken to a local hospital Tuesday and later died.

"An employee of an electrical contractor was taken to the hospital from the John Deere Foundry shortly after 12 noon today. We have been notified by the hospital that the individual has died. The cause of death is unknown but will be determined by autopsy," said Golden.

The worker was not identified.

"The individual was found unconscious in the workplace and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The individual did not work for John Deere and the company will not make further public comment in this matter," added Golden.

Golden said the company would not make any further comment on the worker's identity or condition.
