Driver leads police on chase in Linn County

MARION (KWWL)-- A 27-year-old man faces numerous charges after leading police on a chase in Linn County.

An officer with the Marion Police Department attempted to stop Justin Mcnabb for speeding Saturday.  Mcnabb did not cooperate and led police on a chase, running through stop signs and traffic lights on Highway 100.

Police lost sight of the vehicle during the chase. They later found Mcnabb's Pontiac parked behind a house on Creekbend Drive.

A K-9 unit tracked Mcnabb near the area. He is charged with eluding, driving with a suspended license, speeding and interfering with official acts. Mcnabb also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.

The patrol vehicle transporting Mcnabb was involved in a crash on the way to the jail. Police say it happened on Eastpost Road at Highway 100.

Mcnabb is being held at the Linn County jail.
