Cedar Falls native to International jetsetter

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) - Hear from an eastern Iowan who lived her dream to see the world.

Mary Elizabeth Spreitzer grew up in Cedar Falls in the 1960's. She always dreamed of seeing the world, so she decided to become an international stewardess. Despite fear, competition and doubt, in 1964 she was accepted into a life of excitement, culture, and friends as a first-class flight attendant for TWA.

"Wing Tip Shoes: Memoirs of a Flight Attendant" is the autobiographical story of the charming, timeless encounters of Mary Elizabeth Spreitzer.

Bring lunch to the Cedar Rapids Public Library Westdale Mall and hear all about Spreitzer's life. The program will be held in the Library's Programming Room from 12:15-12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5.

A Cedar Falls native and 40-year employee with TWA, she will discuss her world-wide travels and read from her memoir. Light refreshments provided.
