Building collapses in Keokuk, no injuries

KEOKUK, Iowa (AP) -- A city official says no one is injured after a three-story building in Keokuk in southeast Iowa collapsed.

Public Works Director Gerald Moughler (GAIR-uld mof-LUR) says the building came down around 7:50 a.m. Friday. It spread debris into the street and alleyways around it. The rear portion of the structure remains standing.

Moughler says one person was living in the building, but wasn't home at the time of the collapse.

Traffic on the city's main street was blocked for about 20 minutes.

No other information was immediately available.
